At the end of what will likely go down as the longest campaign cycle in history, let me tell you why I will vote for Mitt Romney on November 6th, election day.
1 - Mitt Romney is a man of integrity. He has been married to the same wonderful woman for 43 years as she has battled both multiple sclerosis and cancer. He is consistent in his commitment to God, family, and country and lends a hand to neighbors in need. Mitt has contributed more, percentage-wise and in total dollars, than Obama and Biden combined. Mitt Romney believes in serving his fellow man so much that he shut down business to organize and lead a successful recovery of a missing 16 year-old girl.
Paul Ryan speaks of Romney's dedication to helping his neighbors:
Mitt asked if he could come over on Christmas. He brought his boys, his wife and gifts. Later on he said, I know you’re struggling, Mark. Don’t worry about their college; I’ll pay for it.
2 - Mitt Romney is fiscally responsible. "Getting our fiscal house in order has become more than just an economic issue; it’s a moral imperative. Every dollar of deficit spending must be borrowed, with the bill sent to our children to pay back. As president, Mitt Romney will ask a simple question about every federal program: is it so important, so critical, that it is worth borrowing money from China to pay for it?" (link)
3 - Mitt Romney can turn this country around. I keep reflecting on Mitt Romney's experience with the Salt Lake City Olympics. He entered in the midst of great deficit and scandal. 9/11 occurred and created a large security concern for the Olympics. Mitt Romney took decisive action and created opportunities for success. Instead of large, catered lunches for the planning committees, he bought pizza and charged $1 a slice and turned a profit where there had been a deficit. He created endorsement opportunities for businesses so that the Olympics could get out of debt. Suddenly, you saw commercials for the official paper towel or chewing gum of the Olympics. This generated revenue for the games without reducing the quality of the performance. This kind of leadership is what Mitt Romney gives - his optimism allows him to lead by finding creative opportunities instead of barriers.
4 - Mitt Romney has a vision for this country. He stands where I stand on so many issues. He supports marriage between a man and a woman, promotes pro-life principles, and fights for religious liberty. Mitt understands his role as president - he would work for the American people and abide by the principles of the Constitution.
Unfortunately, our current president has not shown the dedication to these principles. He went on an apology tour and reduced the strength of the United States. Through executive order after executive order, Obama circumvented the checks and balances the Constitution lays out. He has reduced religious freedoms by demanding tax payers pay for abortions and birth control and that religious organizations fund contraceptives. He misled the people on the Libya attack and has missed 60% of the security briefings. Obama says one thing to one group of people and then says something else to another group of people. He has killed the economy, is burdening the middle class with taxes, and through his policies has cost women and African Americans more jobs and leading to a lower quality of life for these individuals.
On November 6th, vote for Mitt Romney. He is the man to turn this economy around. We can trust him.
